About Howling with Brucey

Howling with Brucey is your dog's new best friend!

With over 10 years of full-time experience working with domestic and exotic animals, a range of animal care qualifications (from Level 3 to MSc), dog first aid training and full insurance, you can be sure your dog is in safe hands. We use positive reinforcement techniques to shape behaviour and create great times for great dogs! We know how important the happiness and wellbeing of our 4-legged family members are, and work alongside regulated training and care organisations to ensure that you can be provided with the highest care standards possible. We are also NARPS (National Association of Pet Sitters and Dog Walkers) Registered.

We hope to expand our range of services over the following months. We hope to meet you and your dogs soon.

What experience do you have?

Over a decade of full-time paid experience working with a range of animals from sea lions to sloth, gorillas to goats, monkeys to mara, aquarium fish to alpacas, alongside a wealth of experience with common pets such as dogs, cats and rabbits.

Having worked as a zoo-keeper and animal trainer for 10 years, I have been fortunate enough to develop a range of essential skills for taking care of animals, developing a particular specialism in R+ (positive reinforcement) animal training.
Alongside keeping/training I have been fortunate enough to both work and volunteer in a range of care settings including pet shops, wetland centres, rehoming centres, farms and aquariums.

What qualifications and training do you have?

I have a range of qualifications in the field of animal science and care. I am also continuously expanding my knowledge by undertaking training and CDP. I am currently undertaking additional qualifications alongside my work, with the IMDT (Institute of Modern Dog Trainers).

The most important question! Bruce is the CEO of fun! Brucey is our very own howling hound, who inspired us to open this business in 2023! With a keen sense of smell and an eagerness to play and train, any walk he happens to chaperone is sure to be great fun!
